Functioning as a cybernetic revival of surrealist automatic writing, the Bureau relies on a custom algorithmic oracle to dictate its weekly research vectors, synthesizing provocations from a latent space of human intent, machine logic, and stochastic chance. With Anamnesis, I’ve been obsessing over the impossible geometry of Last Year at Marienbad, using spatial intelligence models to decode its labyrinthine loops; I wanted to see if these algorithms could perceive the film's fragmented reality and translate that cinematic déjà vu into a tangible, explorable spatial model, effectively hallucinating a digital architecture from a world that was only ever a shadow.

After testing how intelligence models like Meta's SAMD3D actually capture body pose and shape, I've been left wondering: can a machine ever truly perceive the real world as chaotic and raw as the kinetic dance of human turmoil? This whole project, inspired by the intense, poetic discussion of cellular anguish in Olivier Dubois’ “Tragédie,” centers on one relentlessly bending arm in a black lacquered ballroom, turning that singular, incessant gesture into a precise but chaotic dataset; the crucial step then becomes tracing those reconstructed movements and computationally wrapping them in a fluid band of material, which is the only way to genuinely investigate how the material architecture of clothes and the movement itself conspire together to define the space.
