Synopsis
Synopsis
The Algorithmic Retina treats vision as a computational construct that can generate space rather than simply record it. Using custom scripts on 3D scans of sculptures, it simulates binocular vision and dynamic fields of view, challenging fixed, orthographic representation. The project combines isovist analysis and visibility graphs to test whether objects can develop their own surrounding space through patterns of sight. Architecture and vision science intersect in a 'simulated retina': not a flat image plane, but a shifting horizon where each gaze produces its own geometry and atmosphere.
