Escritoire is a study in controlled deformation using robotic incremental sheet forming. A robotic arm slowly shapes a thin metal sheet by pressing it point by point with a rounded tool. The form is not created in one motion but built through many repeated movements. Each pass slightly shifts the surface until the shape appears.

The process creates a surface that records its own making. Small dents, soft ridges, and tool marks collect across the sheet. These traces are not decorative. They show how the robot moved, how pressure was applied, and how the material responded over time.

Escritoire treats the sheet as both structure and memory. It is a desk without drawers, a surface that holds no objects but remembers gestures. The work reflects on writing, not as language, but as an act of forming.
