Synopsis
Synopsis
Escritoire is a study in controlled deformation through robotic incremental sheet forming. A robotic arm presses a rounded tool point by point into a metal sheet, slowly accumulating small shifts until the form emerges. The surface records its own production as dents, ridges, and subtle tool marks that register pressure, sequence, and resistance over time. The sheet acts simultaneously as structure and memory, a desk without drawers that holds gestures instead of objects. Escritoire reflects on writing as a physical act of forming, where inscription occurs through material movement rather than text.
